I don’t think I can put into words how wonderful The Almost Home Group has been for my mom and for our family! After being in a top-rated assisted nursing facility, my mom was so sad. She had falls– so many I’ve lost count. And 4 hospital stays. She ended up in rehab after a fall due to a broken pelvis. Then she returned to assisted living. Her depression was worse. After contracting a stomach virus, she was hospitalized again and they refused to take her back because she was a fall risk. She was only there from September till February! Our only option was skilled nursing. We chose a top-rated place. She was so miserable. Then we read about Almost Home. My mom still suffers with Alzheimer’s. No one can change that but God. But she is at peace and so are we! She is loved and her every need is met. I can check on her by using the web cam system in her house, and it gives me such peace. The staff is so loving and understanding of Mom’s situation and ours. I thank God for leading us to this place!

At The Almost Home Group, there is so much love given to the residents who live in these houses. And that’s another thing that makes this place so much better– the residents weren’t put in a nursing home. These are houses just like the ones we live in, so the residents can feel like they’re still at home.

Co-workers work together. It is a great family setting. Families can be assured that their family member will be taken care of with the utmost respect.

There should be more places like this. After some really horrible experiences with other facilities, I was finally able to find some peace of mind when my mom became a resident at Clinard House. Kathy and the staff are incredibly caring and treated me and my mom like family; things just felt “right” every time I came for a visit. My mom got individual attention and care, and I felt like her welfare was more important than the profit margin. I no longer had to worry about whether she would be able to stay if she had the audacity to start acting like a (gasp) person with dementia. She was not traumatized by constant, needless hospital visits, and she was not perpetually over-medicated. Plus I no longer had the sense of doom and anxiety that I did during the years she was in bigger corporate facilities. I’m so very glad I found Clinard House, and I can’t recommend the Almost Home Group highly enough. They made my mom’s last two years so much better than the previous few had been. And they made my life significantly better as well.

This new home for my mom has been a true life-saver! The staff and facilities are exceptional! The low ratio and attention to personal needs and individual preferences are superb! This is a one-of-a-kind setting, and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place that feels like home!

My dad has been at the Lyman House for 5 months. They have been a blessing. We have been most impressed that they are realistic about his needs, and they are loving and creative in their care.

The Almost Home Group uses a different approach than most assisted living/memory care facilities … as it is not a facility but a home. Kathy, the owner, has a mission to help folks with memory care needs as well as other needs, and her approach is to bring them into a home as opposed to a facility or nursing home. Our family could not be more pleased or thankful.

The Lyman House made a wonderful and loving home for my mother in her last few years. She had transitioned through a couple of assisted living/memory care units prior to living at The Lyman House, and her care at Lyman was second to none. I only wish I had found them sooner. It really feels like you are visiting loved ones in their home rather than an assisted living facility. The staff is so dedicated and caring, and I always had peace of mind knowing my mother was safe, clean, cared for and loved when I couldn’t be with her.

This was the best facility I had found for my wife while she was in care, bar none.  She had nearly one-on-one care, which is what she needed after her stroke.

GREAT, WONDERFUL, LOVING, SUPPORTIVE, an answer to PRAYER!! The Perryman House was a wonderful place for my dad. He went to other assisted living facilities, but my dad needed that extra love and care he got a Perryman. The whole staff (nursing, kitchen, admin. staff, etc.) and the residents are like one big happy FAMILY. The BIGGEST blessing was when my dad was hospitalized, Kathy had a staff member when him all the time (especially when we, the family, needed to go home and rest). So he was never alone! I could go on with wonderful words for the Perryman House, but the best is the name of ALMOST HOME: Perryman House.

I honestly don’t know what I would have done with my sweet mom if it weren’t for Kathy and the team at Almost Home. For anyone who needs individual, personalized care in a nurturing environment with an unmatched caregiver-to-resident ratio, you cannot find a better place than Almost Home.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The home is exceptionally clean. Open space providing patients with space to move about in; nurturing and calm environment. Easily to tell the staff puts patients’ needs first. No adverse odors, homes are very clean, well-dressed staff, very compassionate, empathetic and respectful of patients’ needs.

Almost Home” is a misnomer. It should be called “Better Than Home”. I cared for my beautiful mother for many, many years in my home. However, there was no way I could provide the care that these angels did at Almost Home. Love abounds here. Instead of regressing, my mom flourished. Conversation, singing, home-cooked meals, games, walks, manicures, pedicures, hair styling, daily devotions, outings, on-site medical care . . . everything is done with the most unbelievable love! The best place in the WORLD for the one you love! Notice the word used most here . . . Yes, LOVE!

Almost Home Group has been a lifesaver for me. My wife was in an advance stage of Alzheimer’s. She was a little bit of a problem at other facilities she stayed in previously, and I was asked to move her. She could be a bit of liability to them. She does what other Alzheimer’s patients do, and they don’t want any liabilities or problems. Through a lawyer and a care broker, I was able to meet Kathy. She’s a blessing to us. The place is small with one-on-one care. The staff is all qualified, loving and caring. They’re certainly not there for the money. They just love what they do. All of the residents’ food is home-cooked meals. They provide any food my wife wants.

The Almost Home Group was like a dream come true. Although we took great care reviewing assisted living ratings and conducting personal visits and interviews before choosing a facility, it became apparent that they were unable to provide the attention needed to adjust to a new environment or to address the care and understanding for someone in the late stages of this disease. As a result, we knew memory care assisted living was not a good fit or an option going forward for my mom. We are blessed to have found The Almost Home Group that provides the most wonderful care and attention to their residents that have a variety of diagnoses and needs. The home setting is cozy and comfortable with 24/7 care and attention. I have heard a number of times from staff how glad they are to be associated with any of the three residences under The Almost Home Group umbrella because they feel they have the latitude to do what they want to do related to their career choice and are meant to do: take care of their patients/residents. I feel fortunate she is in such an environment and finally have peace of mind related to her mental and physical health.
